3/22/2018 0 Comments Download Free Commander Keen GameADVERTISEMENT Abmis the Lion Button Software, 1996 Rating: Shareware [ ] Abmis the Lion is a rather strange sidescrolling/jumping game that stars. Who woulda thunk it? Ahem anyways. Play Commander Keen 4 DOS game direct online in your browser. Review, screenshots, ratings, and free downloads of Commander Keen in Goodbye, Galaxy! ![]() Yes, the levels here include some puzzle elements as well as action. The goal is to collect all of the potatoes on the level (what a lion wants with potatoes, I have no idea) and then make it to the exit. The game looks good, but the gameplay just has a slightly 'weird' feel that's difficult to place. (Note: If you're stuck on the first level, watch the included demo by choosing option 4 at the main menu.) (52k) Aldo's Adventure David and Benjamin Ibach, 1987 Rating: Shareware [ ] Aldo bears a striking resemblence to Mario in this EGA ladder-climbing and jumping game that looks suspiciously similar to the original Donkey Kong game. Obvious similarities aside, this game does feature excellent play control, and the game holds up very well even though it's now over 15 years old! Like Donkey Kong each level fills one screen and does not scroll, although there are several different levels to explore. (17k) Aldo 3: Aldo's Assault David and Benjamin Ibach, 1991 Rating: Shareware [ ] Part 3 of the Aldo series of games. All of the Aldo games play similarly to the classic Donkey Kong games from Nintendo. Aldo even looks strikingly similar to everyone's favorite video game plumber. There seems to be a slight problem with collision-detection on the first level, where Aldo sometimes will jump through a certain platform. But other than that, this game seems to play just as well as the others in the series. (27k) Alien Carnage, 1993 Rating: Freeware [ ] Also known as 'Halloween Harry' (not sure why the name change occurred) this is one of the lesser-known titles from Apogee Software. This game features great graphics and awesome SB sound effects and music. The gameplay is very shooting oriented, similar to Duke Nukem. You also collect money to buy new weapons from vending machines. Very cool, and Apogee (now 3D Realms) has recently released the entire full version of this game as freeware! Click below to download the full version. (Note: Use to play this.) (2,775k) Arctic Adventure, 1991 Rating: Full version! [ ] If you've played the classic Pharaoh's Tomb game, you'll be right at home in Arctic Adventure. The unofficial sequel to the classic platform/puzzle game, Arctic Adventure appears to use the same engine as its predecessor, and employs a similar graphical (CGA, ie 4-color) and gameplay style. Gameplay involves jumping around ice ridden levels, breaking ice with pickaxes, and trying to make your way to the exit. Apogee Software (now 3D Realms) recently released the full version of this series as freeware! (270k) Aro D'India Software, 1998 Rating: Shareware [ ] Aro is a fairly basic sidescrolling/jumping game. You play as a red guy. The object is to jump your way to the end of the level. That's it, there's no story, no shooting, and only rarely is there any excitement. ![]() The graphics are pretty basic, but game controls fairly well though, and you have unlimited lives, so given the fact that the excitement level in the game is pretty subdued, it might be worth playing if you need to relax for awhile. (757k) Back to the Forest, 1993 Rating: Shareware [ ] In this game you play a squirrel named Skunny (who's also featured in several other Copysoft games), and are on a quest to 'save your girl'. Pretty good VGA graphics, and SB sound effects. However, the controls are very loose and floaty (especially the way your character slides around as if he were on ice), which makes this game tough to get used to. (498k) Bio Menace, 1993 Rating: Freeware [ ] Note that this is the full registered version of this game, recently released as freeware by 3D Realms. Bio Menace is a decent EGA platformer from Apogee. It's got some nice EGA graphics and SoundBlaster sounds, though, as well as a few original elements like interaction with the game's backgrounds. ![]() ![]() ![]()
